Bringing Writers Together

All Write Now! Conference – Saturday, July 16, 2016, Cape Girardeau, MO

Greetings, Fellow MWG Members!

I wanted to share an update on the All Write Now! Writers’ Conference coming up very soon–Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the University Center on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO.

We’d love to have all of you join us for a day of writing and publishing workshops, pitches, one-on-one critique sessions with agents and publishers/editors, networking, book sales, continental breakfast, buffet lunch, snacks, and the chance at many of our donated items!

The cost is only $85 per attendee, and includes all workshops, breakfast goodies, lunch, and pitches.

Additionally, to keep the registration fee more affordable, we have opened up advertising on our website and in our All Write Now! Conference brochure. Many of our sponsors have been very generous as well in offering coupons, freebies, and discounts to attendees. Any ad placed will be added to our website as well as to our program–all for the same price.

Advertising with All Write Now! is a great way, too, for you to get the word out about your editing services, speaking engagements, topics of presentations, your writing critique group, writers group. We’ve kept these costs very affordable as well! Take a look at the website and costs! We’d love to put your name out there so you can reach other writers! For additional information, you can contact Peggy DeYong, our publicity chair at awnadvertising@gmail.com.

One-on-one, in-person critiques are only $25 extra. You get to meet for ten (10) minutes with the agent/editor/publisher of your choice. Details are on the website and can be accessed at All Write Now! (just Google us and we will show up at the top of the page!)

AND, our contests are still open for submissions until Saturday, June 11, 2016. There are five contests: poetry, Middle Grade fiction short story, Adult/YA fiction short story, nonfiction essay, and flash fiction.

Contest entries are $10/each, and you can enter up to three manuscripts in each category. All contests are will be judged by independent judges not associated with either the All Write Now Committee members, Southeast MO Writers’ Guild, or Heartland Writers’ Guild, and judges will only know entries by number and title.

There will also be a bookstore for ALL attendees to sell their books, too. We wanted all authors to have the opportunity to sell your books and sign them for your fans as well. You can bring the books with you to give to the bookseller. The Book Rack will take a 20% cut for each sale (instead of the standard 40% allotted to bookstores.) Please make an inventory list of any books you bring, along with the price of each. Make a copy for yourself and one to leave with bookseller. All books not sold must be picked up before leaving the conference.

Oh! And of course, we’ll complete the day with the ever-enjoyable, horribly-frightening, best way to get instant feedback from an agent, publisher, and editor. So, be sure to bring your manuscript with you when you pick up your registration packet! See the website for complete details.

Quick update on Faculty: Jill Marr, Sandra Dijkstra Literary Agency (opening keynote); award-winning Southern author, Dixon Hearne will present the luncheon keynote address. John Rudolph of Dystel & Goderich Literary Management, and Tiffany Schofield of Five Star Publishing will also be attending and presenting workshops, pitches, and one-on-one critique sessions. Additional workshop leaders include, Liz Schulte, Sue Bradford Edwards, David Armand, and Robert Yehling. Check out the website for details on the workshops and each presenter.

And, of course, if you are attending and would like to get involved, we could always use additional volunteers! Just email Donna J. Essner at allwritenowconferencemo@gmail.com and let her know.

So, polish up your manuscript and enter a contest, schedule a one-on-one critique, pitch your work in progress, gather your books, bring your business cards, and register today! We’d love to spend the day with you.

Write, and then write some more!
